Make a three-panel moving collage

  1. Open the moving-collage workflow and select three original Live Photos from your library.
  2. Choose a three-panel layout. Reframe each panel so the important subject remains visible.
  3. Preview the motion together; adjust the clips, covers and spacing as needed.
  4. Choose Live Photo or video in the export settings, then export and check the saved result in Photos.

Which output should I choose?

Choose Live Photo when you want a Live Photo asset in your photo library. Choose video when the destination expects a video file. A receiving app may flatten a Live Photo or handle its motion differently, so check what it receives.

Photo Collage is a separate workflow for still-image output. Importing a Live Photo does not make every output format animated.

How many items fit in a moving collage?

The current moving-collage workflow accepts up to nine items, with layouts for different item counts. This limit describes the moving workflow, not every photo-collage mode. For an older installed version, update the app and check the picker.

More panels divide the same output area into smaller pieces. Start with three clear moments and compare the export at the size your audience will view it.

Why does a panel look still?

  • Check that the selected item is the original Live Photo or video, not a screenshot or still copy.
  • Check the motion preview and the saved output separately.
  • A still photo in a mixed composition is expected to remain still.
  • Keep the originals until you have checked the export and sharing result.
