Choose footage with a clear subject and an intentional beginning and end. A short expression, movement or change in a scene is often easier to review than an entire long recording.
Keep the original. Converting to a Live Photo creates a different kind of media asset, and its behavior in a wallpaper or sharing workflow should be checked separately.
Convert in Liveform
- Select the source video in Liveform.
- Choose an available duration such as 1, 2, 3 or 5 seconds, or use the available trimming controls to select the moment.
- Choose a cover frame that also works as a still image.
- Convert and save the result to Photos, allowing the requested photo-library access when needed.
Check the saved result
Open the saved item in Photos and test its motion. Confirm the cover is the frame you expected. If the wrong section was selected, return to the original and adjust the clip.
If you use batch conversion, inspect more than one result before treating the whole batch as finished. The free allowance and Pro features are shown in the app; do not assume a fixed number of conversions from an older guide.
Share with the output in mind
- The saved item plays as a Live Photo in Photos.
- The cover looks right when displayed as a still.
- The receiving app preserves the effect you need.
- If your goal is a wallpaper, also test the separate Lock Screen preview.
